The CRN Industry Hall Of Fame honors the creators of information technology and those that steer the high-tech industry and channel in new directions and lift it to new heights. Since 1997, CRN and The Computer Museum History Center have held a special ceremony to induct the new Industry Hall Of Fame members. "A lot of my friends and customers are switching to OS X because of its Unix underpinnings," O'Reilly said during a break early this month at an OS X conference his company sponsored in Silicon Valley for Unix developers. "The Mac is a unifying force now."

The scenario goes something like this. OS X, based on a Unix variant called Berkeley Standard Distribution, is providing developers with an attractive user interface and consumer platform. (full article)
